Dr. Katie hammill

Senior Occupational Therapist, Ph.D.

Katie is the Director and Founder of Enable Me Occupational Therapy.

​

Katie has lived and worked in South Western Sydney her whole life and is aware of the needs of the people in her local community. She is an experienced, registered occupational therapist who has worked in a variety of inpatient, outpatient and community, and academic settings across South-Western and South-Eastern Sydney.  

​

She is an Adjunct Fellow at Western Sydney University and an industry leader in palliative care occupational therapy. Katie completed her PhD on palliative care occupational therapy practice in Australia after becoming passionate about improving care for people with life-limiting illnesses.

 

Katie has been an invited Palliative Care representative for her Peak Body, Occupational Therapy Australia, and sat on National Steering Committees for Palliative Care Curriculum Development and Allied Health in Palliative Care. Katie is also Board Member of 'Developmental Co-ordination Disorder Australia Inc'.  

 

Katie has published work in academic journals, written book chapters, as well as developing a resource for Occupational Therapy Australia entitled 'Helping You Live Until You Die: A guide for people living with a life-limiting illness and their families'. In addition to her publications, Katie has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences.

Katie's current clinical focus includes: autism, paediatrics, childhood mental health,  and disability. However she has a long history working in oncology, palliative care, stroke, rehabilitation, dementia, aged care, and ergonomics. She is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and works from a strengths-based approach with all her clients.

​

When Katie isn't working she can be found spending time with her family and friends, playing with her two loveable but disobedient puppies, or being creative at her sewing machine.

lauren bellamy

Senior Occupational Therapist

Lauren is an experienced, registered occupational therapist who has worked across South-Western and South Sydney for her whole career. She has worked in paediatrics, aged care, community disability care and with assistance dogs clients.

​

Lauren published her Honours work on brain cancer in a peer-reviewed national journal, and presented her thesis findings in Perth at the national Occupational Therapy Australia Conference in 2017. 

​

Lauren’s clinical focus includes autism, disability, animal assisted services, and intellectual disability. She is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma informed and strengths based and loves working with kiddos and young adults. She has recently completed her Brick Therapy training and is enjoying running Brick Club for all budding Lego enthusiasts.

​

When Lauren isn’t working she enjoys reading, taking her Labrador on adventures and seeing as many musicals as possible.

samantha battams

Occupational Therapist

Samantha is a dedicated and compassionate new graduate occupational therapist with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care to clients and their families. 

​

Samantha recently completed her Honours thesis paper on the development of an intergenerational program and is currently preparing to publish this work in a peer-reviewed national journal.

​

Her clinical interests include pediatrics, neurodiversity-affirming practices, Polyvagal Theory, and working with people of all ages with a disability.

 

Outside of her professional life, Samantha enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, reading, and spending quality time with her friends, family, and her beloved dog.

Dimi papadoniou

Occupational Therapist

Dimitra is a qualified Occupational Therapist who graduated in 2022 and has experience working across the NDIS space in Sydney. She has supported both children and adults with neurological conditions, with a strong passion for working in paediatrics, particularly with neurodivergent children.

​

Her clinical focus includes autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, and global developmental delay. Dimitra takes a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach, prioritising each child’s individuality and wellbeing. She is committed to supporting children and families in a way that is respectful, empowering, and meaningful.

​

Known for her kind, nurturing, and patient nature, Dimitra creates engaging and supportive therapy sessions by incorporating each client’s interests into her practice. She believes that therapy should be both enjoyable and purposeful, and works collaboratively with families to support functional skill development and progress toward individual goals.

​

In addition to her occupational therapy experience, Dimitra has worked as a support worker and support coordinator while completing her studies. This has provided her with a strong understanding of the NDIS system and the importance of holistic, coordinated care.

Outside of work, she enjoys going to the gym, spending quality time with friends, and exploring the outdoors.

Najwa sabra

Registered Psychologist

Najwa is a registered psychologist with extensive experience working across the lifespan in diverse settings. She has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and families in navigating the complexities of mental health.

 

She has worked extensively in the department of education supporting children and families and delivering specialised programs for children with specific learning disabilities.  Najwa’s expertise spans various mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, and developmental challenges. Her specialisation in developmental and educational psychology enables her to provide evidence-based interventions that foster growth and resilience in children, adolescents, and adults.

 

Najwa offers a comprehensive range of services, including psychometric assessments and diagnosing conditions such as autism, dyslexia, intellectual disabilities, and specific learning disabilities. She works closely with clients to identify their unique challenges and strengths, providing targeted interventions that promote educational success and emotional well-being.

 

Najwa is particularly passionate about working with young people, helping them overcome learning difficulties and developmental delays. She collaborates closely with families, schools, and other professionals to create individualised plans that support each client’s educational and emotional needs. Her holistic approach ensures that all aspects of a client’s well-being are considered, to improve their mental health and overall quality of life.

SAVANNAH ABDOW

Allied Health Assistant

Savannah brings experience as a dedicated support worker, where she has supported individuals with a wide range of needs, strengths, and personal goals. Through this work, she developed strong, trusting relationships rooted in compassion, respect, and person-centred care, empowering clients to build confidence and thrive in their daily lives.

 

Savannah also has valuable experience as an OOSH Coordinator in a primary school setting, where she supported children with diverse behavioural and additional needs. This role strengthened her ability to remain calm and adaptable in dynamic environments, respond creatively to challenges, and foster safe, inclusive, and nurturing spaces for every child.

 

Across all her roles, Savannah is known for her empathy, patience, and genuine passion for helping others feel supported, understood, and confident in their abilities. She is deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she works with.
