Service Description

Home modifications are about access, safety, and the ability to live well in your own space. Our occupational therapists assess how a person uses their home and recommend practical changes that support independence, comfort, and participation in everyday life. Our approach to home modifications is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in how people actually live — not one-size-fits-all solutions. We provide comprehensive home modification assessments and recommendations to support: - Safe access in and out of the home - Bathroom and toileting accessibility - Kitchen access and use - Bedroom safety and comfort - Mobility within the home - Falls prevention - Long-term independence and ageing in place Recommendations may include minor or complex home modifications, depending on individual needs. We work closely with the person, their family or carers, and other professionals to understand priorities, routines, and future needs. Our home modification process typically includes: - In-home assessment and discussion of goals - Environmental and functional assessment - Collaborative planning and option exploration - Written recommendations and reports to support funding applications, including NDIS, Support at Home, and other relevant programs. - Liaison with builders, suppliers, and funding bodies (as needed)
